Biomimetics Project Engineer (m/f) │ University of Groningen, The Netherlands
For the German-Dutch ‘Bionics for Small & Medium Enterprises’ (Bionik für KMU) Project we are looking for a Biomimetics Project Engineer (m/f) that will mostly work in the area of translating biological examples towards technical and practical solutions following specific demands from Innovation questions of a SME, which can be in almost any discipline of biomimetics.
The candidate should have a background in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics and have experience or at least a strong affinity with biomimetics to be able to contribute significantly to the biomimetic solution-finding process. The candidate should be creative and broad-oriented, and have an open mind and be flexible, because the character of the problems that he/she will be working on is hardly known beforehand and can range from sensors to structures to optimizations. The candidate will work in close cooperation with biomimetics specialists as well as SME representatives.
Working location will be at the Energy & Sustainability Research Institute Groningen (ESRIG), University of Groningen (NL), at the Dept. of Ocean Ecosystems (Zernike Campus).
Payment is according to the EU-Interreg tariff system. Appointment will first be for 6 months which will be extended to 2 yr when performing well.
